So I was trying to diagnose a problem on my 92 4.0 so I pulled the ac relay with the engine not running, cranked it up to see if my theory panned out, it didn't, so I turned it off and put the relay back in. Now the AC doesn't work. It blows air that isn't cold for a minute and slowly blows less until nothing comes out. Did I do something wrong?
I put a new relay in and it still doesn't work. Blower fuse is good.

Pulled a code: "Open or shorted condition in A/C clutch relay circuit"

Does the compressor clutch operate? Sounds like you might have an issue with the blower too.

I must have shorted something when I removed that relay.

I have a high idle and TransAm79 theorized that maybe the computer thinks the AC is always on and thus is always trying to compensate for it. Turned off engine, removed relay, cranked it up, still high idle, turned off engine, put it back in, no AC.

I'm at a dead loss on this ha. I think it's something in the TB (one of the sensors somewhere). Can't find a vacuum leak anywhere on the daggum thing.
