I have an 01 Cherokee sport. Last summer the Ac would work for a short time then stop. From information found here it pulled the AC clutch and removed a shim (there was only one) and all was well. Now I have AC ALL of the time when the temp selector is turned to cold even when the the center selector is turned to defrost. Not a problem now but winter is coming here to SW Montana. Any ideas? I would appear to me it is the AC clutch.

sounds like you have removed enough shim to cause the ac clutch to be in constant contact. When the ac cycles off and on it's usually because the pressure is low in the system or a failing pressure switch.
