Hi All: My 2000 xj,s ac works great,had evaporator replaced a few yrs ago. My concern is that the compressor has a noise that sounds like a slightly noisy lifter when in cooling cycle only Mechanic told me last yr "that it's nothing to worry about,he's heard a lot like that". Any one else encounter this noise?

 

A/C compressors usually start making noise just before failure.
