Default ABS.....ooops

so I have been workin on my 94 for a while all the brake fluid managed to leak out. The resevoir is dry and a few of the hard lines are disconnected. I know how to bleed brakes i did it all the time on my 76 chevy but i just found that supposedly if you do not leave the brake pedal depressed that air will get in the abs pumps????? What do I do? i have searched and cannot find an answer. Please . thanks
