Welcome to CF from Dan in Tenn.! It could be any one of your accessories. An old way to isolate the noise is to take a 2 foot piece of stick or whatever and, while watching out for the belt, hold one end to your ear and touch the other end on the AC compressor or whatever(stay away from the belt). Sound will travel through the stick extremely well and by going to each accessory in turn, you'll find the offending component. My late father taught me that over 40 years ago.

I have a similar sound but it sounds like it is coming from the clutch fan.

found out what the noise was today. I was driving down a back road and it started squealing really loud, then the alternator froze up, threw the belt and ripped the fan shroud off Went to the local oriellys and got all new stuff, $243 down the drain.

Anybody have any ideas where i should look for my random no overdrive (sometimes its there sometimes not)?

Check for any stored codes since the light has been on. Procedure given here> http://jeephorizons.com/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=2719
