99 xj not startingredients. Need help!!
Hey everyone, recently I've been having problems with my jeep not starting. A couple days ago it would start but die right away, it would stay running if I kept my foot on the gas. Now yesterday I went to start it and all it does is crank. It has a new battery and starter. Also it is getting spark and I can hear the fuel pump run when I turn the key. Not sure on what it could be. Any help is appreciated!

Start by checking battery and connections. Common symptom of a weak battery or bad connections causing low voltage. Try giving it a little throttle while cranking then use the throttle to keep it running for like ten minutes and see if it idles on its own.
Could also be throttle position sensor or idle air control but eliminate the possibility of low voltage first. You could also test the battery if you have a multimeter. Also have you had the battery disconnected recently? It will do this when the ECU has been reset.
