99 XJ longer to crank after alternator replacement.
I replaced my bad alternator the other day and now the jeep seems to take too long to crank before it fires off.
It used to be fairly instant but now it takes about 5 seconds.
I have a very strong, new battery about a month old...cranks strong/ fast.
I also upgraded the positive and negative battery cables last year.
My cables have zero corrosion at the battery mounts.
I know that during removal I had to flex some wires to get at the alternator connections so I am wondering if I had pulled something or jarred something loose.
It's a 99 Cherokee sport 4.0' auto, 4x4.
Any ideas?
I'm gonna double check all my contacts and grounds right now actually.
