Default '99 is up and running!!!

First of all thanks to this forum and everyone on it that has offered advice to my posts. My son bought a 1999 Cherokee Sport and blew the head gasket within a month of owning it.

We pulled the old head, had it machined, and got it back on the road tonight. Neither of us had really done any work beyond basic fluid maintenance and some suspension work. I appreciate all of the expertise on this site.

Question: When we started the vehicle, a ton of white smoke blew out the exhaust for a few minutes. We let it idle and then took it for a spin. By the end of the ride no more white smoke... temp was very stable around 210. Fluids remained good to go. Oil pressure no change. All was well.

I am assuming that the smoke was the remnant coolant blowing out the block from before the new head gasket.

Sound right?
