Yes, so every time you clear the code, it returns every second start of the vehicle without fail.
This happens no matter how the code is cleared.

Yes, many times.

And I too searched a few part stores for this pcm, nothing under 300$, only one had a matching number.

by Part Num..printed on PCM tag and in Ebay adverts...will be 56041 in small case (for my year) and XXX digits much bigger.
To my knowledge, the last 3 digits represent a software update

Cardone list compatible Part nums.

Yes Chinese, very cheap, I had another look online last night..pretty steep learning curve, Chinglish Instructions, No support

Almost certainly Yes

'96 and post 96 have an different method of communicating with the TCM

Once you have the part num of your PCM, their is heaps on USA Ebay..just search the part num

So here is an example off Oz Ebay...(for a 2000 PCM)...shows the 56041 small and 673AF..all those nums make up the correct part num

* note...shows key and ignition lock included...post '96 have immobilsers..I think PCM recognises unique code from igintion
...could be wrong about that, but they start for 3 secs then stall

Check the distributor indexing and if the distributor shaft is loose.

I have done so 5 times and even replaced the distributor in case the gear was worn.FSM followed, nothing changed.
