well im back with a computer.
should this work?
https://www.amazon.com/Hantek-HT6022BE20Mhz-Digital-Oscilloscope-Bandwidth/dp/B009H4AYII/ref=sr_1_8?crid=1NKLJU2F4Q3MP&keywords=hantek+oscilloscope&qid=1573497966&sprefix=hant%2Caps%2C176&sr=8-8
i also am now running a windows 10 platform which you mentioned worked out for you.
dave51 you also mentioned looking for a scope that listed specific automotive use, this:
https://www.amazon.com/Automotive-Diagnostic-Oscilloscope-bandwidth-Generator/dp/B07DKYR9X6/ref=pd_cp_328_2/134-0154282-6987842?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07DKYR9X6&pd_rd_r=dbd7ce8c-2c63-454a-be91-438e4ea1839a&pd_rd_w=hkWPE&pd_rd_wg=fDyIX&pf_rd_p=0e5324e1-c848-4872-bbd5-5be6baedf80e&pf_rd_r=J47HZ6JPEHA3DXADGGW3&psc=1&refRID=J47HZ6JPEHA3DXADGGW3
8ch says automotive, though your suggested 6022BE says nothing specific about it.
Ill simply be looking for what ever I can use to get you the information to help me figure this out.
AWG, I had a video of flexplate examination, but it recorded in time lapse: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5LS1...ature=youtu.be you can slow it down to .25 play speed though its not very helpful. I tried holding a marker to where it would barley touch the plate while it was running. There is some flex that seems constant, not really sure what normal is. No visible cracks outside of crank mounting area.
Hopefully I can get better pictures of the shutters by removing the CKP.

also read this code can be caused by a simple misfire issue, as the cam and crank loose sync for a brief moment...do you have any miss ?
out of interest...are you saying you swapped an entire wiring harness?...thats a huge job

I am familiar with the concept of a cracked or loose flexplate, but, are we really trying to measure run out ( lateral? axial?) with a dial micrometer? That's not in the fsm.?

I think I would measure flexplate runout using a dial gauge and cranking the motor with a socket, dont know what the acceptable figure is, but if it was anything more than about 0.020", I would be concerned
also read this code can be caused by a simple misfire issue, as the cam and crank loose sync for a brief moment...do you have any miss ? yes I believe it has a normal miss. Very similar to this:

In a new find upon removing the CKP there are no scratches, nor is it adjustable(factory intended).
Trying a new replacement Mopar CKP while the old Mopar CKP is out.

Yes, but I would get a couple of alligator clip cables instead of using those probes.
https://www.amazon.com/Elenco-TL-17-Alligator-48-Inch-Length/dp/B0002JJU4G/ref=pd_bxgy_328_3/131-3281648-1916066?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B0002JJU4G&pd_rd_r=76a8bd56-63c6-4fb7-976d-3bebad233a58&pd_rd_w=bSWRy&pd_rd_wg=Cg861&pf_rd_p=09627863-9889-4290-b90a-5e9f86682449&pf_rd_r=ASN9G71CCEQDYFQXBNKK&psc=1&refRID=ASN9G71CCEQDYFQXBNKK
OTOH, the 1008C has 8 sets of alligator clip cables and the HT-25 ignition tester, as well as the automotive templates so I think it's a much better buy.
Yeah it's got 8 channels but I've only used 2 at time for anything. And if you wanted to test 6 ignition wires or injectors at a time (assuming it could handle that)(and I'm kinda doubting it could) you'd need 6 attenuators or current clamps or HT-25s and that would cost a ton.

Installed new mopar CPS just because i had one. old one was mopar as well, nothing changed from when I swapped them.
This idle is the same as it was before replacing. the oil pressure and voltage gauge will fluctuate with the rpm idle.
Does anyone have the mopar part number for the Cam sensor individually? perhaps napa echlin brand

its been a long thread, but afaic, you have ruled out Crank sensor...Distributor should have been replaced long ago, so that should be out
leaves flexplate, timing chains.....or a miss..do you have irregular idle or misfire ?

watched the vid, but it told me nothin about run-out, as in checking a brake disc etc..with the dial gauge needle touching on the bottom of the flexplate

distributor assembly+cap/rotor (not the cam sensor though it is a replacement mopar part),ignition coil, ignition harness, spare pcm(tried), new CKP, Cam position sensor is still possible no?

Irregular idle is just what the idle video is showing, constant bump in the RPM tact.
Ill see what I can do about getting a dial reading. Are you suggesting I take this measurement just above the teeth on the flex plate?
Thank you for your patience guys, the list is getting shorter. I'm a bit glad for the CKP not being the culprit as so many suggest on most every thread. My gut said this wasn't the case from day one and that's exactly what led this goose chase.
We are making progress!
i do have a front seal leak on the new seal from the engine swap. If i replace timing chain is there any recommendations? the donor engine is a rebuilt 92 lower 95 upper.

I just want to get you all the right info so we know where to look moving forward. ill get a hf dial indicator if thats going to get us somewhere.
I did not see the idle video, and misfire diagnosis can be difficult, however if you have that situation, I would be trying to rectify that condition

1999 original pcm, the donor i tried was from a matching 99.
1999 mopar crank position sensor and 1999 flex plate
1999 mopar cam position sensor with an aftermarket assembly
