99 jeep 4.0 smokln

I just got this 99 jeep it gots a 4.0 motor i payed 200 for it but it smokes out of the valve cover could someone tell me what to do i order a head gasket

Which side? Probably just a leaky valve cover gasket, or could be a leaky injector o-ring if its on the drivers side. Does it have a certain smell. Either way, its best to take care of this pretty soon. Don't want any fires in there.

We will need more info to help
how does it run
how much smoke
Where is it smoking? Fill port, outside, front back side?
oil level? Flow ok?
engine temp ok?
need much more data to help diagnose your issueIs)..
