Default 99 d30 for my 01 xj

I got a 1999xj d30 out of the scrap for 50 bucks with control arms ,steering components and steel wheels. i tried to use the wheels and they do not fit over my calipers? So I am wondering if the wheels and calipers differ that much what else is am I going to encounter with the swap into my 01 xj.

That D30 should work. The only thing I could think would be different is the D30 from the 01 will most likely be a low pinion versus a high pinion but that shouldnt matter with your wheel fitment issue. Are you using stock rims?? I think alot of the newer XJ (00-01) had 16" rims instead of 15" rims. just my 2 cents

Everything is the exactly same besides the 99 being High Pinion and a bit stronger, bolts right in no problem though. The wheels on it might be different but you could just use the wheels you have now. There shouldnt be anything different with the brakes unless somebody did something funky to them.

the wheels on the axle were stock 15" steels and my wheels i use are stock aluminum 15" 01 Cherokee wheels only thing i notice in difference is the steels are narrower on the back side with a lip for the spokes...my alum wheels have a wide and flat back side with no lip? i have found something about two piece composite rotors being used til 99? should i just switch my brake hardware over to the 99 axle?
