Default 99 Cherokee sport 4.0 ... 4x4 Good rear shocks for towing???

Hello All,

I have a 99 cherokee sport 4.0- 4x4..

I tow a 21ft boat on the weekends, Boat weighs probably 3000lbs..
When I hook the boat to the jeep it realy lowers the back of the jeep way to much and bottoms out when I go over bumps.. I am sure the rear shocks are shot.. What is a good strong shock that would be good for towing???

Thanks for any input..

Ant...

What's likely shot are your rear springs. Start there first. But as a bandaid, you can put the ~$130 monroe coil over shocks on there that have springs on them. Look for them at your local parts store. We picked up a set at O'Reilly's.

You need new springs or maybe helper air bags.I wouldn't use a air shocks are a helper shocker with a spring on a unibody,The upper shock mounts are not designed to be load bearing and would probably break over time.

Default Monroe Sensa Trac

I've used these on a couple different Cherokees and they work great.

Hello again guys,
Thanks for the replies.

Well I was gonna put a 3" lift on it, Guess I mine as well just do it now, Wanted to wait, but summer is almost here and I will be on the boat every weekend I can.. I was gonna use a Zone kit with new springs and new shocks, Here is a link to what I was gonna buy,

http://www.ebay.com/itm/280861330853?_trksid=p2055120.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT#ht_5313wt_980
Will this work for me? I am just not sure what rear end I have..
I also have 31" tires and they rub a little so I was hoping this kit would take care of that to...

Thanks guys,

Ant...
