Default 99 cherokee rear fender flare

My rear fender flare (stock) keeps popping off when hitting a pothole or bump, etc. What is the proper way to get it back on secured? I can snap it back on to the bracket, but it will eventually pop off. Do I have to remove the brackets completely? Seems like the nuts holding it on will be hard to get off without breaking the bolts. Help.

Default REAR FLARE

Are you talking about the actual wheel opening flare or the wide piece
of molding between the flare and the rear bumper ???
The flare is screwed on and should not keep popping off.

The bumper molding slides on and if you try and pry it off, will break the
inside plastic "clips" ---- I broke two of the clips before I figured out
how to do it.

I am talking about the flare on the rear wheel well. The flare itself is seperating from the bracket that is bolted onto the body.

You will have to unbolt the metal brackets to get the flare on right. You will end up breaking a few if not all of them. When I fixed mine I removed the stud from the brackets by grinding them off and went to the hardware store and picked up some stainless steel nut and bolt and used them to remount them. The only thing is that you have to make sure that the little tabs on the flare are still on it so it will stay on the bracket.

Thanks Robert, so do the flares snap into the brackets and then u bolt the bracket back on I guess? Never did this before, but it does not seem to fit right now while the brackets are still on the vehicle if u try to snap it back in. Will do this when the weather is better, too cold here now in NY.

Not a problem.
They should snap back on. As long as the tabs on the flare are still good.
