Default 99 Cherokee Misfire, Intermittent/Erratic

99 Cherokee SE 4.0, AW4, 4WD (command trac)

I've had this issue for a while and now its really starting to bug me since I've been replacing parts to no avail. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Additional info. The other symptoms I am experiencing are as follows:
When I go off road, (Browns Camp specifically) I can be trailing along just fine but if I stop for lunch for example and turn the jeep off, when I go to turn it back on it starts with a misfire that goes away after revving it. I believe this is a heat soak issue? Secondly and very rarely, sometimes when it is warm or cold outside and the Jeep is warm or cold I can start it up back it out of the driveway then put it in drive make it about 5-10 feet then it will start missing and sputtering for about 50-100 feet then return to normal. Also a heat soak issue? No check engine light.

Related parts replaced, related upgrades etc:

Airaid ram air intake with heat shield
Magnaflow glasspack muffler
Poweraid throttle body spacer
Bosch EV6 injectors (4 hole) Just installed this last night
Bosch O2 Sensors, upstream and downstream. Also installed last night
Mopar Distributor cap and rotor
Mopar Plug wires
Champion plugs (I know there the right model # for my Cherokee taken off the
emissions sticker but I don't remember the number off the top of my head)
Reset the computer a few times as well. Ie, after the exhaust, after the intake, and again last night after the injectors.

Here is a video of startup idle then 1500 rpms. It is missing at idle but it is harder to hear then at 1500.

First issue sounds like heat soak.
Second- the brief stutter after takeoff- mine did the same thing. Went away after replacing the CPS and TPS, I can't tell you which was at fault. Never tripped the CEL.
I don't hear a miss in your video, just the standard 4.0 valve train/piston slap noises. 99 should set a misfire code. Are there any?

Thanks for responding!

Hmm. Any ideas on how to fix heat soak? I forgot that i did replace the CPS so i guess Ill try the TPS next.

The miss is very slight and not consistent. In the video if you listen to the exhaust sound you can hear some pops that come through along with the car shaking a little from the engine. Ill see if I can get a video of the exhaust tonight.

Nope no check engine light.

I would still have it checked for codes. Just because you don't have the CEL on doesn't mean you don't have any stored codes. Unfortunately not all problems will trip the CEL .

I had a similar issue once and it turned out to be cracked spark plugs. It started after I had replaced them and thought it couldn't be them but turned out I'd cracked the ceramic insulator on two plugs. It would idle rough and smooth out at higher rpm. Easy to check, easy to fix.

Yea I was thinking of this too. Ill see tomorrow if I can borrow my mentors code scanner during my lunch break and see if that will give me anything.

Here's the video of the exhaust. Maybe I'm crazy but I can hear a distinctive popping noise in the exhaust when it misses. Also what you can't see is every time it misses or the exhaust "pops" the whole vehicle shakes a little from the engine which would also indicate a miss.
