Hello everyone! Long time reader, first time poster.Thank you all for all the advice I was able to obtain from this community in the past, as a passive user.
1999 Jeep Cherokee Classic 4 door.
I was trying to pull my headliner board out to replace the old headliner fabric.. So I took out all the grab handles, the trim and moulding all around, sun visors, overhead console, dome lights, rear seatbelts, detached the speakers and speaker bar/shell in the back etc etc.
Well, I had to put everything back because (besides on the rear, by the hatch door) the damn thing still feels attached... and I mean SOLID attached. Especially in the mid section, where the middle pillars are (where the front seatbelts are).
After some very in-depth searches I am reading of some people talking about four "retaining clips"... but I can't find the location to save my life. Any ideas as to why it wouldn't drop down?

I just took out the headliner of my 99 Cherokee Sport. There are two strips of adhesive foam tape (not clips) going across at the places where you indicate the board is still stuck to the roof. Try to work it gently from one side until it comes away at the edge, then work that side down until the headliner is pulled away all the way across. It will be laying with one side down. Then, gently work it off of the opposite edge, and take it out through the hatch.
Be careful not to bend the board as you work it out. You will need to work it off the edge near the doors, using finger tips.
