Finally replaced the trans & today was it's first trip out.
Worked great so hopefully I got a decent one from the junkyard.
We put the new Speed Sensor in even though both showed good on the JY trans.
Now I've got 2 verified working spares or may just sell 'em off if someone needs one.
Many thanks again as I'm starting to enjoy this XJ more & more!
