98 XJ Hard Brake Lines - How Did You Do It?
My first new thread. I'm replacing the hard lines in my 98 XJ. I had to cut the line to the right front caliper to free it from all the junk on the firewall and beneath the master cylinder. Do I have to duplicate the horrible routing of this line down to the frame rail and back up to the firewall or would it make more sense to run it high above all that crap. I'm using the pre-flared poly coated steel lines from the local parts store.
I'd like to hear from a few of you how you tackled this major pain in the ***** brake line.

Did the same job on my 01. not as bad as it seems. I use the ni-cad (I think that's the name) brake line, its easier to work with and doesn't rust. a little pricy though. try to run them as close to the way they were as you can. doesn't have to be perfect.

Good stuff. Rent a DECENT flaring tool, and rent or buy a good bending tool, and you're good.
