98 XJ AW4 Shift Solenoid Replacement
So starting tomorrow I am going to drain my tranny fluid, then friday i am going to pull my pan and have at changing the 3 shift solenoids. Found an excellent write up... http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f11/a...errerid=265073 and looks easy as pie, just have one question.
With the 98 XJ, on the parts site http://www.makcotransmissionparts.com/97420K.html it says:
***Notes: 98 & Up vehicles w/o cable use new dual solenoid Remove individual brackets from shift solenoids with the dual bracket for these applications.
Any ideas what that means? I haven't tore into her yet, and I am doing this in my driveway, so would rather not have any unexpected surprises.
Thanks!!!

Changing the solenoids is pretty easy. Just drop the pan which imo is the worst part of it all and there you go. There will be three just be careful with the connectors they are very brittle. If you have alot of trouble with the pan just put a jack stand under the transfer case and take down the cross member.
