Here I go again! Bought this '98 and former owner didn't have the keyless fob. Furthermore, rear doors will not unlock except manually. I noticed that master door lock switch doesn't work either. I checked the childproof locks and those are not engaged What am I looking at here? Thanks for the help once more.

sounds to me like the passenger side control. Inside the passenger side there are relays for the locks, but they aren't replaceable relays, you need to buy a new module. Or there could be broke wires in the door jams. Another option could be the rear door lock actuators are broken. Do the rear doors make noise or just nothing when you hit the locks?

mystery problem solved
Today, the doors unlock! I'm still going to have the door control tested and replaced if needed. Can't find any broken wires so it has to be that. Thanks for the troubleshooting. Electrical car problems are far beyond my abilities. It's tough being a gear head with limited mechanical aptitude.

The wires break internally. You wouldn't be able to see it.

honestly might be cheaper to just but the switch and replace it than to pay someone to test it.
