My jeep has just started backfiring. It happens when i just start it and go. It will happen a couple of times then runs fine. It acts like there is bad gas or not getting enough. I have no idea what it could be

Welcome to the forum, Elizabeth.
There are a number of things it could be. Bad gas is waaaay down on the list.
Please tell us a bit about your background in fixing cars. Are you comfortable getting dirty and turning wrenches? Doing simple tests?
There are a few tests that should be done before anyone can (intelligently) suggest a course of action. What you do NOT want to do is just start replacing parts. That's an expensive and frustrating way to troubleshoot. We call it firing the parts cannon.
