They read them for free to give you the trouble code such as the ones i have written in my post. They dont tell you what is wrong with the vehicle. All i need is kind of for someone to interpret these codes for me and let me know what they mean, and what i need to do i really do not want to take this thing to a shop its costly. Thanks

p0740?
is that TCC circuit?
Transmission code. I had that come on my 99 xj when my 2wd trans was going out. It was slipping pretty bad and when i would shift from park or drive to reverse it would take a few seconds to finally shift into the gear. I replaced the transmission with a 4x4 trans from there.
Also in the same respect i have had the same code with no slipping at all. In turn both times the code was present, i eventually replaced my transmission

codes listed here
https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/gre...ads-here-6558/
What are your symptoms? p0700 seems to indicate a fault stored IN the tcu that must be read/retrieved with a specific piece of equipment. p0705 isn't listed, but p0740 sounds like the S3 lockup solenoid is going out, or is not functioning.

That appears to be S3. Have you checked the resistance? Have you swapped out the TCU?
The Wt/Bk wire in the 7 pin connector goes to S3 and to C14 on the TCU, Bk/Tn is ground from the TCU to the trans.
You have the AW4 diagnosis manual?

Yes i have swapped out the tcu it worked for a little bit then quit. I do not have the diagnosis manual. Im just gonna take this thing to a tranny shop i already have an appointment set up for in the morning maybe i will get some answers there, i cant just keep throwing parts at it. The wife is starting to get mad about it ^.

The trans shop should be able to read the codes out of the TCU, if not, the Jeep dealer should have the DRBII.
Its a Jeep thing, she wouldn't understand.
