hope somebody has an answer to this.. today i got in my 98 grand cherokee lauredo to go to work,and when i turned the key to start engine,it ran for a second and shut off,did it again,and again... heres the strange part ,after the first time i tried starting it,the lights outside were all blinking intermittedly and could hear aflasher or relay ticking under passenger side dash,popped the hood and could feel the horn fuse ticking,pulled it out and nothing,went over to unlock passenger door with key to investigate clicking and soon as i opened it,clicking stopped and lights quit blinking!!! jeep started right up then and ran fine,what would have caused this???

 

Do you have an alarm system on it? Also you might get a better response if you post this on the GC section. Most on here are much more into the XJ since this is the XJ section.
