98 Cherokee Questions...
I have a 1998 Cherokee 2 dr Sport that has a couple issues. First is that it's leaking either power steering or transmission from the drivers front of the vehicle. Any suggestions what commonly fails on these? I've tried cleaning the area and figuring it out but cannot find!
Second, around 50 km/h, I'm getting a humming noise coming from the rear diff area. I did at full synthetic diff change 2 weeks ago to take a look at the gears in the 8 1/4 rear end, and they seem fine. I just put new tires on it today as well. I'm thinking possibly a bearing? But not entirely too sure.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it is from drivers side and front, it is power steering. Could be a hose, loose fitting or bad seal in the box. Just feel around under each item. If your fingers come back red, that is it.

well i know it's not coming from the transfer case. it appears to be coming from around the steering box there, but not 100 percent sure. don't really want to go around replacing parts, but i might have to. i'm dropping a couple drops everytime i stop. funny thing is the rear main seal is dry which i was plesantly suprised!

Check your driveshaft, if it's bent or out of balance could make that noise plus you would get a slight vibration. Check your u-joints as well, the driveshaft should be tight, if there's play then u-joints are bad.

Tranny cooler lines are right above the steering box running into the radiator, check and see if those are leaking, if its the same as mine, there is a high pressure fitting right there about 5 inches from the radiator
