Default '97 Cylinder Head on an '01

Not sure if this is the right thread to post this. I apologize if its not.
I'm looking for tips on putting a '97 cylinder head on a '01 The distributor on the 97 obviously is not there on the 01. Any ideas on fabricating an ignition rail onto the 97 head? I have the wonderful 0331 crack and just got a 97 head from a pick and pull yard. Going to try to put it on this weekend. Thanks in advance!

you can do it...you need to use the 2000-2001 intake exhaust gasket though....I put a 91 motor in a 2000...you may need to make brackets for the coil pack...I just stuck mine on the plugs...everything is the same except that gasket has to be used....

No, you cannot just swap the head. You'd have to swap the entire motor.

The 2000-2001 heads are different from the 99 and earlier.

Iirc its the alignment dowels that cause issue.
