Exclamation 97' Cherokee, Sputtering and sluggish.

Hey whats up CF,

Got a problem that i have never experience in owning 3 cherokees.
I recently was wheeling with some friends on their property, and he's got a pretty decent sized mud hole out near his pond.

I haven't really wheeled in the mud lately, but i decided to have a little fun.. So i hit the hole, made it back n fourth a few times and then the engine cut off. Never had this happen to me, but a few friends have experience this problem.

After hitting this mud hole, my gaiges stopped working and i wasn't
able to see my temp, rpms, battery life, etc..

I thought that it overheating caused the sputtering, so i changed the thermostat, and put new champion sparks in it. Also, had to charge the battery, because of some reason, it had died completely.
I fired it up, it idled and ran smoothly just like it normally does.
I thought i had fixed the problem..

Obviously, i didn't.
15-20 minutes of just everyday driving around town causes it so
sputter and loose power. It won't go anywhere when i lay on the gas
and it seems to jerk.

Any ideas?!

Thanks!

start looking over all of your electrical components to make sure there isnt **** caked inside the connections. one thing alot of ppl overlook that causes their jeeps to overheat is mud that is actually dried and caked between the cooling fins on the radiator itself. hard to see unless you get up close. check all of the fuses, loose wires and so on and so forth.

Well it's not overheating anymore.. the gauge continues to stay at it's normal temperature.. but it's still sputtering. I seafoamed it, check the plugs, AGAIN, i can't think of what it could be. unless it's the throttle body sensor, which i have already replaced in december.
