Default 97 and 98 XJ Differences

I am rebuilding my 98 5-speed. It needs an engine wiring harness, There is a guy selling one for a 1997 anyone know if it will work? What years are compatible?

Most likely the harness will not work. 1997 had 3 major underhood wiring changes.

Okay, Thanks! Do you know if a harness from a 1998 auto would work?

It should.
I've heard that the 96 & 97 were in a league of their own. Think Frankenstein.
