I purchased a 96 XJ in which the previous owner removed the CAT and muffler. Yes it had a straight pipe from the header to the rear of the jeep, and yes it was LOUD… I had a muffler installed, but will need to add a CAT sometime in the near future to pass inspection.

The check engine light is on, I assume since the O2 sensor post cat is missing… I’m not sure the 02 sensor pre CAT is in place. Can someone post a pic or two showing the 2 sensors, the CAT and the wiring. I need to a road map of sorts so I can put it back to the way its supposed to be,,,

i dont have any pics but the pre cat o2 is just after the manifold and the wires hook up down by the top of the oil pan. should be a 4 wire plug. the rear is about 2/3 down the way of the drive line on the exhaust. there should also be a 4 plug wire there. the plugs are either black or grey.
