96 xj guage issues
*sorry for the misspelling in the title i feel stupid now*
i just bought a 96 xj country in pretty nice shape (for a new york vehicle) the only thing wrong with it is the guage cluster
picture one shows what it looks like when the jeep is off and 2 is showing when it is warmed up and idling
the gas gauge doesn't move. (which is important)
the oil pressure is stuck half way wwhen off but jumps up to what it would be normal if it started at 0.
the charging gauge seems fine.
and the temp gauge is stuck a little high but goes up to about 210.
any ideas on this? and yes that 83000 is original

They look normal to me. Oil pressure and temp don't zero out when the engine is off. Turn the key to ON with a cold engine and they should both sit all the way left.
Check for a good ground at the fuel tank. I bet there isn't one. If you temporarily ground the fuel sender signal wire the gauge should move. If the ground, plug and wiring look good- you might have to pull the pump assembly to check the float and sender. Your pump comes out without dropping the tank.
