My 96 XJ cranks normally, roars to life, and then stalls immediately.

The coil, cap, rotor, plugs, pump, and filter are good. I have also replaced the CPS. However, I suspect that the engine is being starved of fuel in some way; it fires normally but then just dies, and with a shot of starter fluid will run until the fluid burns off.

What could be causing this problem? Is there a sensor that could be telling the ECM to stop the injectors from firing?
