Ok 96 xj 4.0 I have no voltage to the coil. Relay turns off power to coil when you try to start.. no short found in harness. Anyone have any ideas, this all stock.

 

Do you have the FSM ?

There is quite a long description of fault finding, which also describes how the ASD relay interacts with the PCM

does the duel pump prime (audibly) for 3 secs when key is switched to "on"

You could have a faulty relay, swap it with another (such as A/C relay, there is a few in the PDC which are the same type

The ASD relay will switch off if the PCM does not detect a "ready" state from other sensors including crank sensor

Have you done an OBD2 check for codes ?

What happens if you disconnect the coil, does the relay still switch off
