I don't think my fuel pump is working. This 96 cherokee sport hasn't been started in 2 years. No gas getting to the cylinders. I don't hear the pump working. I took the fuel line off the fuel filter (input side) and turned the engine and no gas came out. The engine cranks well. Should the gas come out when I do this?
An electrical junction is right next to the filter. Can I put a meter at this junction and check for signal?
If the pump is bad can it be replaced without taking off the fuel tank? It looks like the circular panel on the gas tank can be taken off with a twist action. This would certianly be an easy change if this is possible.
