Default 96 high back Cherokee seats

Can you unbolt the bottoms of seats from the tracks, and swap the driver & passenger sides ????

Yes you can. Bear in mind that the "bungie" to hold the seatbelt will be wrong side. If you have power seats, you'll need to remount the panel (no holes for the screws).

Default Did not work

Saudade ; I removed the seats, swapped the seats onto the tracks, and went to reinstall and it did not work. The seats extended into the door opening. I would have to drill the floor to remount the tracks, or make plates to refit the seats to the tracks. Down to one car ant to put the seats back for now. Thanks, Santara

Perhaps I misunderstood. The seat bases (both manual and power) do not swap. The cushions do. When my driver side backrest frame cracked, I swapped the passenger side over while I had the backrest welded. I found a good condition set at a local salvage yard.

The seat cushion is held on by 4 bolts (2 front and 2 rear). Here's a pic of the seat from underneath at the rear.

The backrest is then held on by 2 bolts and 2 nuts that secure the backrest to the frame.

Here's the cushions and backrest cover I salvaged.

On an earlier hunt, I pulled a good backrest frame and a few other parts.
