Default 96 Headlight problems.

i have a 96 classic, and about a week and a half ago i went out and got some new headlights, i was using the stock sylvannas but they were so old i could barely see fifteen feet in front of me. i bought a set of sylvanna silverstars the much brighter set, installed them fine and they worked wel for the last week and a half, untill this monday when i went to go someplace and relized they wouldnt come on. the dash lights work, turn signals, brake lights all work. but the lowbeams and highbeams wont come on. if i hold the turn signal lever back the lights will come on. but only if i hold the lever. iv checked most of the fuses in the engine bay and under the dash but none seem to need replacing. any help would be much appreciated.

The headlight switch isn't known for it's longevity. Could be the new lights pull more current and pushed it over the edge.
