96 Door latch rod

96 Door latch rod
The rod connecting the handle to the latch mechanism fell out on the mechanism side, now my door won't open from the inside. Can anyone tell me where it connects to on the mechanism, the retainer clip broke and fell out. I can't hardly see it to figure out where the hole is at. 96 w/ manual locks
