Are there transfer cases from any other year Cherokees that will fit my 1996 SE 4.0 Auto without any modifications?

I found transfer cases from 95, 98, and 99 Automatics locally but I don't know if they will swap without mods??? Mine is a 231.

I'm a newbie so I need help! Please!

I ran a search all night long before posting, went through every possible article matching "1996 transfer case" and couldn't find a single one that simply said any other year would go right in without the spline length being different or some type of mod had to be made.......
