Default 96 cherokee, i need help!

i got some issues here with jeep. It starts fine, idles fine but when i start to give it gas it bogs out or bucks when i fan the gas pedal. If i smash it to the floor the idle drops to about 750 rpm (yes i am serious seven hundred) and will hold but if i let off the gas it comes up to about 2k and drops back to normal. I have done plugs wires cap rotor and new tps. Any suggestions.?

I'd start by checking the fuel pressure.

Agree on the fuel pressure. (Might just be a plugged filter... when was that changed last?) What brand TPS did you use? I've seen a lot of horror stories about the cheap ones sometimes being bad right out of the box.

You also should probably clean up your throttle body and IAC valve while you're at it, if that hasn't been done in a while... or ever.

check the wiring to the o2 sensors...If possible, check for a code in the system. I had work done to my Jeep where they had to remove the exhaust system. Jeep would start and idle fine, but that was it. It ended up that the mechanic admitted to having to "beat" on the exhaust pipes to get them loose, which caused the o2 sensor to fail. Replaced the o2 sensor and no more problems. I do not know if this is your problem or if there is a way of testing this theory, other than a code from the computer, but hopefully it will help. Also a fuel pressure gauge will let you know if the fuel pump is ok or not.
