Default 96 cherokee

hi. I just got a 96 Cherokee and haven't even had a chance to get into it but I have a simple fuel filter question. Where is it located and if it is attached to the frame do they use the really hard clip type or the hose clamp type? Thanks in advance.

it's hard to find the time to work on it because I'm currently restoring a 51 International Harvester Cub. BTW it has the infamous and indestructible 4.0

Linda funny for me to answer, since I also have a 96, but I'm fairly sure its external, driverside near the fuel rail. My 90 was hose clamps, not sure on the 96. Hope that helps.

I really appreciate that Bustedknuckle. I know it's less than a 101 question but since I haven't had the chance to check I figured I'd ask before tearing into it. Thanks again and May God bless you!

It is external of the tank on our 96s. I just changed mine a couple months ago. It is located behind the driverside rear wheel well area. Get down there and look underneath, it's really hard to miss. Looks like about the size of a coke can.
