Default 95 xj heating issue updat

alright well I've replaced the thermostat, removed, inspected and cleaned the water pump. I installed a new water pump inlet tube, I've flushed the heater core, I connect the vacuum reservoir that I found was missing. I am still getting air only through the defrost. if I leave the vents off for a few minutes and then turn them on I'll have some heat come through the defrost vents for a few seconds then its back to luke warm. I really hope I don't have to replace the heater core so any idea on whats going on?

Did you back flush the heater core while doing the other things?

Yep I back flushed, put some CLR in there to break up the gunk and blew some compressed air through it. It was very dirty and after running some water through it a couple times I finally got clean water. I then ran coolant through it to get the water out.

Do both hoses to core get hot? Or one hot, one warm?
