Default 95 jeep cherokee ticking promblem

I have a 1995 jeep cherokee I6 4x4 automatic transmission with a ticking problem when the vehicle is at normal operating temp. The sound is most predominate when the vehicle is shifting gears. At first I heard it was the valves but than i heard the transmission any input would be great thanks everyone!

Someone with more tech experience will probably chime in; but could be lifters that are sticking or also a possible cracked manifold. Mine was on loose and with hairline crack – sound was tick-tick-tick that followed the rpm and worsened under load.
