Default 95 Cherokee Country Front End Woes

i have a 95 Cherokee Country with 176K miles, it was mechanic owned so i doubt anything was ever changed. My problem is that when I'm on the highway i get a heavy vibration in the front end and some in the steering wheel. The XJ has a brush guard on the front and you can see it vibrating too, if i cruise at 70 mph its good anything over and mad vibrations.

Any ideas fellow XJ guys and gals???

Ive already replaced the following
Front & Rear shocks, all were really bad
Front Rotors & Pads, grease caliper slide pins
Water Pump, T-stat, Hoses & Fan Clutch
Dist. Cap, Rotor, Plugs & Wires

I noticed that the rear springs had gaps between the leaves and some of the spring pack clips were snapped

Balance the tires, check ALL of the moving parts in the steering and suspension for slack, and repair as needed. 176K miles on it, so it is time for all of that stuff to at least be looked at. HTH!!

Yes, like COSXJFAN said, Balance tires. I'm betting that's all it is. I have 33's on my XJ and if I threw a weight of hittin a trail or something I sure felt it on the highway home.

Sounds like either a wheel is out of round (bent rim, flatspot on the tire, ect) or unbalanced. Good luck

thanks guys, i know the tires are suspect. the rear tires are shot and the front ones are ok, but i had hit a curb and blew a tire so i had to replace that tires and its probably tweaked the rim.

Or knocked a balance weight off. Sounds like you are on the right track.

Well its time for me to hit the junk yards.
