will 95 xj 2dr opening quarter windows swap into a 99 xj 2dr ? I am new here so if its been asked a million times before; sorry...

hello... is there anybody in there??? just nod if you can hear me... is there anyone at home??? That long window on a 2dr xj just above the quarter panel from the back of the door to the lift gate... in earlier models I have seen them where the front 5-6 inches opens like a vent window. Were there any changes in design that prevents them from being taken from a 96 and older 2dr xj and put in a 97 and up 2dr xj? I have 2 99 2dr XJs I would like to put these windows in but dont wish to spend the money to find out it wont work. Has anyone done this?

My glass book shows different part numbers for 88-91 and then 92 up. The block size, or opening size is the same 17" x 45" according to my book. May be a difference in the moulding or rope in moulding versus glue in moulding.

The older models are still available new, I haven't checked on the newer model though.

If you have access to a set of older model glasses with mouldings, in the money, and don't or can't use them, I would have interest in them.

My wholesaler still wants $300 per side for those. I found a used set on ebay and should have bought them at $150 a side.

Be sure if you get a set somewhere that the moulding is still with them. I can't get the moulding separate.

the 2 piece movable assembly for 93-98 is DQ08210 passenger side and DQ08211 drivers side.

Now the older models are sold out, only the 93-98 are available. One in Wichita, KS and one in Shreveport, LA.

You can check with any windshield replacement business and they should be able to use these numbers and locate your 2 pc quarter glasses. The assembly should come with a new moulding. Be sure to ask about the moulding.

I read your question again. The body opening is the same in 99, 17" x 45".

I have the same affliction, I have 3 two door xj's and still would buy more. lol

Thanks a whole bunch for the thorough info. affliction, addiction,or affection too close to call. I have 1-'97 SE 4dr 4.0 aw4 4wd, 2-'99 2dr Sports, both 4.0 4wd, 1aw4 and 1 5sp. also have '54 M38A1.
