Default '95 2.5 CPS bolt size

I am working on getting my 86 MJ on the road and have run into a road block.

1986 MJ
- 2.5L
- '95 XJ External Slave Bell housing
- AX5

I went to bolt the CPS in position with the same hardware I used on an internal slave bell housing and noticed the bolts would not thread into the bell housing. I have been unable to locate the bolt size in my parts catalog, so here I am.

What size bolts hold the CPS on to the bell housing of a '95 2.5?

Thanks, Brett

1/4"-28 if anybody needs the info for future reference. I got some weird looks carrying a bell housing around the hardware store.

Make sure the CKP will be properly located.

On the 6-242, they're a fine-thread (ISO, I think - something like M8-1.0?) but it's got an odd shoulder on it to locate the bracket - and it's not quite a standard size shank like you'd normally find.

Make sure you can't push the sensor tip into the flywheel trigger teeth. I don't recall the spec flying height, but it's probably okeh as long as you don't drive the sensor into the trigger teeth and shear off the end.

I will double check the sensor to see if it can be pushed in. Thanks for the tip.

I did notice that the sensor was not like those on my 92 MJ or 03 TJ 4.0's. The 4.0 sensor simply has 2 holes in the bracket for mounting while the 2.5 has a slit (center of bracket to edge) on each side, one pointing up the other pointing down.
