ive searched and couldnt find anyone with these issues. short and to the point. after the xj gets warm it runs like crap. the first start up of the day or after it sits for a couple hours the thing runs like a top. so im thinking sensor problem.. BUT after its warm the tranny starts to act up too. it wont stay in OD, it will randomly kick inbtween 2-3-od going down the road with no change in grade/gas peddle.. it REALLY likes to get "stuck" in 2nd.

issues after hot:
tranny "hunts" and stays in 2nd, even on highway.
missfire/studder throughout rpm range.
issues only happen after restarting the xj once youve been driving it a while and its warm.

With the 94 your odb2, so pulling codes is a potential, i think.. But I guess the TCM is suspect. It doesn't sound like a kick down cable issue. Have you checked fluids and all that?

 

all fluids good. today it wanted to die at red lights. even in nuet. so i dont think its a tranny issue anymore...
