Default 94 Cherokee 4.0L cuts out on right turns?

Beyond my limited knowledge here -- My Rufus (94 4.0L High output V8 automatic) cuts out and dies when making a right turn at anything higher than 10MPH.

I've got a mechanic coming to look at it "when he gets a chance" but I'd like to see if anyone has any suggestions as to what might be causing it and what I can do to fix it.

Thanks,
Heather

Hi and welcome to CF. Right off the top of my head I can only think it has something to do with the electric/electrical system maybe? Try unplugging and replugging in the CPS/Coil wires, fuses and relays under the hood...Tj
BTW its an inline 6 not an 8...lol

fuel pump is going out or is clogged. its either cutting out or is sucking something up on right hand turns...

IDK why I keep thinking V8. I WAS the one to replace all 6 spark plugs.

I just checked all the wiring and they are all good, clean, no raw spots etc.

So on to the fuel pump. I can't seem to find it so I'll assume either I dont know where its at or its in the tank?? I can't seem to find the fuel filter either unless it too is in the tank. This is one of those "Never done it before" things so I'm learning as I go.

Thanks again,
H

It seems to only do it when it has less than 1/2 a tank of gas.

yep its the fuel pump. and the pump is in the tank, along with the filter. have to drop the tank to get to the pump.

on a '94 Cherokee it should be accessable on the front of the tank with an external filter on the driver side frame rail. If its a Grand Cherokee its all in one in the tank with access on top of the tank so you'll have to drop the tank. I did both styles last week. Its not hard either way.

meh, i have a new pump and mine does it too.

its not the pump necessarily, but the screen or sock or whatever it is is probably worn out or damaged
