i have not had it looked at , so not sure whats wrong. when im braking it will slip out of gear and make a grinding noise? like its been put in park, so i put in neutral and back into drive and it stops . Ive been driving with it like this for 5 weeks now and any time im slowing down i put it in N. it won't grind every time but 1/7 times it will. any help or idea's welcome.-update now it sometimes does it when its in neutral while driving . and yesterday it didnt engage park .i could push it forward no problem, then it engaged properly into park

Just to make sure Im understanding this right, this physical shifter itself is literally coming out of gear or the shifter stays put and the transmission slips out of gear? Either way you need not be driving your vehicle in this condition or there will be a catastrophic failure in the near future.
