Well with my tires being blown I guess now is a good time to figure of my 4x4. I know the front axle does not spin when the jeep is park when I crawl under it it wiggles about maybe a quarter inch to each side. When I put it 4 high it feels like nothing changes the 4x4 light comes on. (I taped the gas on some loose gravel and just the rears spun) Neutral works fine jeep won't move when in N and rolls etc. When I get into 4low the whole jeep pretty much changes it's real lurchy the breaks can barely hold it at idle. Once again I tap the gas both rear tires spin for some reason? (some other times only one will spin)
It shifts back into 2wd drive no problem. When I jacked up one side on the front axle one the pass side the wheel turns freely sorta it drags a little but spins. The rear on the same side will not spin at all? Is one of them messed up. It has the 231 and I am pretty sure it has the the c8.25. Thanks

Probably the vaccum disconnect in the front axle. I had the same problem with mine when I bought it. I took mine apart, pulled the clip off the shaft the shift fork moves on, moved the shift fork over and put the clip back on, so my front axle is always engaged. Now I know mine is in 4 wheel drive the second I shift the transfer case.
Before you do that, make sure all the vaccum lines are connected to the axle. There are 4 vaccum lines that go from the transfer case to the front axle, and that's what engages and disengages the front axle when the transfer case is shifted.

My bad, 93 shouldn't have the vacuum disconnect, dont know what I was thinking.
If you jack up all 4 wheels, and shift it into 4 wheel drive, do your front wheels spin? Does the front driveshaft spin? Is it making any noises when in 4 wheel drive? Do you have a front driveshaft?
Sounds to me like the transfer case is working though, since low range works.
As far as whether one or both rear wheels spin, that's normal for an open diff. Nothing wrong there.
