I have a 92 4.0L 4 door cherokee that has a rought start. Don't get me wrong it always starts but sometimes it takes more than one try. I replaced the starter and battery. Next I'm do the distributor and spark plugs. Someone told me that it might be the fuel pump. I was wondering how I can test this or should I just replace it.

i had same prob, i placed a fuel pressuer guage on fuel bar (bought cheap
one from harbor freight) that was the prob, fuel pump.

 

where do you test it at though, fuel bar? Where does it come into the engine compartment at or can I just test it right at the line coming off the tank.

 

Fuel filter ???? Its worth checking and cheaper easier to replace than a fuel pump.
