91 XJ Briarwood model. Contact paper?

What I'm guessing the the grainy wood imitation material is, is just contact paper. Over time, I can tell that it's lost it's shine. What would y'all recommend I use to make the contact paper shiny again? (If possible)

I have never tried it, but a lot of the RV guys swear by Zep Floor Finish for their faded stripes and decals.
