91 Overhead Console in a 89 XJ?

91 Overhead Console in a 89 XJ?
I got an overhead console from a 1991 XJ Cherokee and I was wondering if I can put it in my 89 XJ Cherokee, I have the wire for the overhead console but not in my truck so would I have to put wire into the truck so I can run it? Any help would be greatful. Please let me know what I can do.
